REMINDER: Annual Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance takes place on Saturday February 17th in the chapel of the Mater Hospital.

Annual Service of Thanksgiving & Remembrance

Our 26th Annual Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance will be held in the Chapel of the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital on 17 February 2018 at 12 Noon.

It is dedicated with respect and humility to all organ donors and their families who, by their goodness and compassion, give others the gift of life.

The Chapel is located in the Old Building of the Hospital. Members will direct attendees on the day.

Refreshments will be served afterwards in the Atrium of the Whitty Wing.

This is a non-denominational service and, as ever, we would like to express our gratitude to all those in the Chapel at the Hospital for facilitating us.

Should you have any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to contact us.

Christmas Cards Now Available

A reminder to members that our Christmas Cards for this year are now available in the Heart & Lung Transplant Clinic in the Mater Hospital.

All proceeds go directly to the charity.

We appreciate your continued support.

Global Organ Donor Commemorative Event, November 30 2017

The first ever global event honouring organ donors will take place in cities across the world later this month.

This Irish-led Global Organ Donor Commemorative Event - Thursday November 30, 2017.

The first ever global event honouring organ donors will take place in cities across the world later this month. This Irish-led commemorative initiative will involve stone sculpted candles, gifted by Irish cities, Galway, Derry, and Belfast being unveiled in Cape Town, Melbourne and Boston on 30th November.  A similar event was held on the 16th November in Spain when a Dublin-gifted commemorative plaque was unveiled in Barcelona.

The purpose of the project is to give expression on a world stage to society's appreciation and gratitude for the life-giving gift made possible through organ donors and their families.  It will also help promote the cause of organ donation and transplantation globally.

The project is being initiated by Strange Boat Donor Foundation in association with Organ Donation and Transplant Ireland.
