CHRISTMAS CARDS 2016

We are delighted to announce that our Christmas Cards for this year will soon be available from our secretary and also in the Heart & Lung Transplant Clinic.

Packs of 10 will cost €5 and all proceeds will go to the IHLTA so we can continue to support our members and raise organ donation awareness.

IHLTA Facebook Page

In the last 6 months, the number of people who ‘like’ our Facebook page has increased from 900 to in excess of 1,200. Hopefully our new followers are enjoying the content and have found our posts to be of interest or some benefit to them.

Do you know anyone who might find the IHLTA Facebook page useful? Perhaps someone awaiting a transplant, or indeed someone in the immediate post-transplant period?

Although we endeavour to update this website on a regular basis, the Facebook page is the most up-to-date platform through which you can engage with the IHLTA. On it, we strive to respond to messages within a few moments and content is uploaded several times per week.

Please note, you need not be a member of Facebook to access the IHLTA Page. It can be viewed by clicking: www.facebook.com/ihlta

IHLTA Visit to Circle of Life Garden

Photos from the recent IHLTA Visit to the Circle of Life Organ Donation Garden in Galway have been uploaded to the IHLTA Facebook page.

We also recently came across this interesting article from the Connacht Tribune -

Ken on the Run!

We would like to congratulate Ken Mulkerrins who recently participated in a 5k which took place in St. Anne's Park, Dublin.

Ken, who underwent a heart transplant some 6 months ago, took part in the event to raise awareness of organ donation. He also raised funds for the High Dependency Unit of the Mater Hospital.

Well done to Ken, who is pictured below.

A Big Thank You to the McCoy Family

Below pictured are Daria McCoy and her sons, who recently took part a night walk of Benbulben Mountain, Co. Sligo organised by Sligo/Leitrim Mountain Rescue in the name of organ donation awareness.

Daria's husband had a double lung transplant.

We would like to sincerely thank them for their efforts, which attracted attention from the Sligo Champion newspaper. Events like this go a long way in spreading the ever-important message regarding organ donation.

Gerry Scully, IHLTA secretary, is pictured receiving the cheque from Daria, Mark and David McCoy.
