Our 2016 AGM at the beginning of this month was the first such occasion not presided over by Brendan Gilligan in a number of years.
Brendan stood down in 2015 following a period with the IHLTA extending over a decade, during which time he helped to make the Charity what it is today. His hard-work and dedication are hugely appreciated by all involved and, accordingly, we thought it fitting that he be presented with a small token of our appreciation, an IHLTA tie pin.
Only two of said pins are in existence, with the other having been given to President Higgins during our recent trip to Áras an Uachtaráin.
Brendan's work in the field of transplantation continues to this day in his role as Irish Representative and Chairman of the European Heart and Lung Transplant Federation.
