Tesco Ireland contacted IHLTA with an update in relation to their response to COVID-19
Exclusive shopping hours are available to over 65 customers and family carers, and to the extremely medically vulnerable including transplant recipients.
The hours are up to 9am every weekday, Monday to Friday.
The statement below is from Tesco Ireland:
The purpose of having these hours in-store is to allow customers who most need a quiet shopping time, to have exclusive access to our stores.
We have rolled out numerous health and safety measures such as Plexiglass screens, which we are increasing in-store, and sanitisation stations at store entrances. Our trolleys, pin-pads and other customer touchpoints are regularly sanitised, physical distancing signage is in place across all of our stores, and our colleagues are regularly briefed on the public health guidance.
For those who cannot make it to store or prefer not to, we continue to support the Government’s Community Call initiative providing volunteers with priority access and free multi-shop trolley bags at all other times (after 9am), as well as our online shopping service.
