24th Service of Thanksgiving & Remembrance

Last Saturday, February 20th, marked the 24th occasion of our Annual Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance in the Chapel of Mater Hospital.

Once again, the turnout was hugely impressive and we would like to sincerely thank all who attended. In particular, we would like to acknowledge those who contributed on the day, both in terms of readings and prayers as well as those who assisted in funding the occasion.

A number of photographs were taken on the day and they will be uploaded to this website in the coming weeks.

Bingo Fundraiser for IHLTA

Pictured below (right to left) are Michael Miles, who received a double lung transplant in 2015, and his daughter, Emma, presenting a cheque for €1,500 to IHLTA Chairman, Paddy O'Mahony. Family and friends of Michael held a Monster Bingo fundraiser. Many thanks to all involved and the community of Union Hall and Skibbereen for their support.

On behalf of the Irish Heart and Lung Transplant Association, we wish to thank them most sincerely for the donation to our Association.

Donations  such as these help us to continue our work in providing help and support to patients  pre and post transplantation. It also helps us to provide funding for specific projects within the Heart and Lung Unit of the Mater Hospital.

As a non-Government funded Charity group, we appreciate every single donation to the IHLTA.   People like the Miles are not just providing vital funds,  they are also creating donor awareness and in doing this they are helping to save lives.

Once again, on behalf of the Association, our thanks  to all involved in this and all other fundraising event for their wonderful support.
